Former broodmares

Kalliope SSF is our Shetland pony mare, by world champion Shetland driving pony, Michigan’s Heir to the Throne.

We got lucky with this one in 2023: Habib (DeNiro x Welcome), Elite mare, 80 points in her IBOP, NMK top five.. and the list goes on..

It took me almost three years to find the Dutch Harness Horse I wanted, but believe it or not, I found her in the USA.

Carpe is the second daughter of our fantastic Thoroughbred mare, LaLiscia (read more about her at Eliscia SSF).

Eliscia SSF, “Lily”, by UB40, is LaLiscia’s third and final filly, and I think her best offspring.

We imported La Vita as a coming two year old and she gave us over two decades of ourstanding producers and performers.

Honorites was our fifth Orchis daughter.

LaLiscia was on loan to SSF from former DBNA member, Trish Smith. I have always believed that, in the Dutch population, there are certain desirable traits found only in the Thoroughbred.

Although LaVita may be my love, Oladaula is my favorite mare. She sends chills up and down my spine whenever I see her move.

Many thanks to Carlene Blunt and Gary Lane for making the purchase of Oleander B possible. The additon of Oleander brings our breeding program to a wholeness that is difficult to describe.

Mistral received her ster status in Holland in 1998, placing first in her class and was invited to the National Mare Show in Ermelo, where she was named Reserve Champion.

This mare’s pedigree, too, is a Dutch pedigree devotee’s dream. Her sire, Samber, is the most famous progenitor of Pinto sport horses in the world. Nemels is one of his very best daughters.

Pioendaula is our third mare from Eugenie van Dam’s breeding program. This mare is a half sister to Oladaula, and very similar in conformation.

We bought Kirona from our friends at DG Bar Ranch, in Hanford, California.

Thea Vita SSF is the result of many years’ waiting…

Hanerina was a daughter of Anerina. She was sold and became a CCI3*-S eventer.

Now, we didn’t actually own this mare, but I made arrangements to buy her 2005 foal by Freestyle because I wanted to add Cabochon blood to my program.

Anerina: a top jumper mareline and the foundation of the Stal Henstra jumper breeding program.

My friend, Katie Kuhn agreed to lease out one of my favorite mares in North America to me, Pamina VDL.

Ombria was a mare from the famous “Bria” line.

Oisther brought the SSF program a mare line from the famous family van Helvoirt.

Facet comes to us after retiring from her successful sports career: she competed at PSG and I1.

This mare may be smaller than I would like, but she is wrought with boldness and athleticism. She is elegant and really well put together.

Unquestionably one of the finest KWPN mares in North America, Orchis was our foundation mare, that has exceeded our expectations in every way.

The farm favorite and the only daughter retained from our foundation mare, LaVita, this outstanding Contango daughter will be a resident here for life.

My weak moment at a stud barn in Germany had set in motion a chain of events that produced this athletic daughter of Lyjanero.

This powerful mare has impressive extensions and her extreme beauty is just icing on the cake.
