I’m delighted to welcome the new SSF team, Jocelyn Kraenzle and Taylor Torre. We are transitioning to making use of the new facility by taking in training and sales horses and putting more SSF horses under saddle. Everyone who attended the Regional Meeting, got to meet both Jocelyn and Taylor, as well as the cute foal Versace SSF (Escaneno x Paeonia SSF by Vivino x Charmeur). “Bruno” spent most of his first ten days in the capable hands of the staff at New England Equine Surgical and Medical, but he is on the mend and doing great now. He has had limited turnout, so he isn’t as strong or developed as I had hoped for the meeting—still he was sweet as can be and loved some attention from anyone that needed a baby fix.
Furthermore, we said goodbye to farmer Morelli after the Regional Meeting and although Wim Cazemier couldn’t be at the meeting, we said goodbye to him last week also. He was standing our stallions as you all know but since he is moving back to the Netherlands, he brought back Gaudi to our farm. Jaleet SSF didn’t come back – he has been sold to the Farm at Brookside. Last ‘news’: it has been snowing a lot for this time of year. New England in the Spring…five inches of snow last week, in the 60s this week. Guess I’m wearing Muck boots instead of sneakers for chores.
