In an effort to provide our breeders with the most information possible in making their breeding decisions, we decided to test Gaudi for the Warmblood Fragile Foal Syndrome (WFFS) mutation. He is homozygous negative, and, therefore, not a carrier.
We would like to recognize the courage that it takes for stallion owners to come forward with this information so that breeders can make responsible decisions. If managed responsibly, it does not have to be the end of a horse’s breeding career, especially for those horses that can have a significant and positive impact on the breeding population.
